The easiest way to begin is to record one tasting directly on your PC. Google Forms are optional. Cup Chirp is a local Windows app for recording, organizing, comparing, and visualizing beverage tastings. It is designed to keep more than a single score or tasting note. A tasting can keep the product, preparation conditions, evaluation, notes, product information at that moment, and the person who tasted it connected as one record. Those records can later be reviewed, compared, collected from other people, visualized as Radar charts, and reused as source material for images. What you can do • Record your own tasting directly on your PC • Store product information, preparation conditions, evaluations, and notes together • Visualize tasting evaluations as Radar charts • Compare the same product across different times or conditions • Compare your tasting with another person’s • Collect tasting responses through optional Google Forms • Import collected responses back into Cup Chirp • Review externally entered products that are not yet registered • Prepare Radar charts and tasting information as image-production material • Back up and restore supported Cup Chirp data with Complete Archive Record directly on your PC The simplest way to use Cup Chirp is to record a tasting directly inside the Windows app. Choose or register a product, enter the conditions for the current tasting, record your evaluation and notes, then save it. For coffee, for example, you can keep information such as the product, dose, water amount, brew time, temperature, serving style, sensory evaluation, and notes together as one tasting record. The same product can be recorded many times under different conditions or on different occasions. Compare tastings Saved tastings and evaluations can be compared inside Cup Chirp. For example: • The same product tasted at different times • The same product under different preparation conditions • Your own tasting compared with another person’s • Responses from different customers or participants Cup Chirp is not designed to decide which tasting is “correct.” It is designed to help you see how the same product may be perceived differently by different people, at different times, or under different conditions. Visualize with Radar charts Tasting evaluations can be displayed as Radar charts. This makes it easier to see the overall shape of an evaluation and compare compatible tastings visually. Radar charts and tasting information can also be taken outside Cup Chirp for use in other creative workflows. Prepare material for images, social posts, or print Cup Chirp includes a lightweight visualization and layout function. You can arrange items such as: • Radar charts • Text • Backgrounds • Product information This is not intended to replace a full graphic design application. A practical workflow is: organize the information in Cup Chirp → arrange the basic layout → export it → finish the visual with AI or another design tool Cup Chirp prepares the structure and source material before the final visual design. This can be useful for social posts, printed material, tasting reports, or review images. Optional Google Forms workflow Cup Chirp does not require a dedicated mobile app. If you have a free Google account, Cup Chirp can generate a Google Form Kit for mobile and third-party input. You can use: Personal Form for recording your own tastings from a phone or browser. Customer Form for collecting tasting responses from customers, event participants, or other people. The person answering a Customer Form does not need to install Cup Chirp. Google Forms and Google Sheets are optional. If you only use Cup Chirp directly on your Windows PC, you do not need a Google account. Bring collected responses back into Cup Chirp Responses collected through Google Forms are stored in Google Sheets. They can be exported as a Cup Chirp-compatible CSV and imported back into the desktop app. The basic flow is: Google Form → Google Sheets → Cup Chirp-compatible CSV → Cup Chirp Google Forms is the input side. Cup Chirp is where the records are organized, reviewed, compared, and visualized. Unknown or unregistered products External responses may contain product information that does not yet exist in your Cup Chirp Product Library. Cup Chirp does not automatically force an unknown product name onto an existing product simply because the names look similar. Instead, unresolved product information can remain pending until you review it. You can then decide whether it should be connected to an existing product or registered as a new product. This deliberate pause helps prevent tasting records from being connected to the wrong product. Google Form Kit and future Cup Chirp updates Cup Chirp may change its Google Form Kit structure in a future update. Tasting data that has already been imported and stored inside Cup Chirp can remain available inside the application. However, an older Google Form or Spreadsheet created from a previous Form Kit may not always be compatible with a newer version of Cup Chirp. Before updating Cup Chirp: 1. Check whether your current Google Form / Spreadsheet contains responses that have not yet been imported. 2. Import any remaining responses. 3. Update Cup Chirp. 4. If needed, generate a new Form Kit from the updated version. 5. Use the new Form / Spreadsheet for future responses. In short: keep your existing tasting history inside Cup Chirp, and update the input form when the Form Kit format changes. Local-first Cup Chirp is designed as a local Windows desktop application. Your main Cup Chirp data is handled on your own PC. You do not need: • A Cup Chirp account • A Shakado account • A subscription login • A cloud account for normal desktop use Google Forms and Google Sheets are used only if you choose to use the optional external-input workflow. Direct tasting records, comparison, visualization, export, and local data management do not require a Google account. Complete Archive Cup Chirp includes Complete Archive for backing up and restoring supported Cup Chirp data. This is useful when: • Keeping long-term tasting records • Moving to another PC • Creating a backup before making major changes • Preserving products, tastings, evaluations, presets, and related data together If your Cup Chirp data becomes important to you, creating Complete Archives periodically is recommended. First use For your first session, start with one simple tasting directly on your PC. Register or select a product → Start a tasting → Enter the tasting conditions → Record the evaluation → Save → View the Radar After that, explore comparison, Google Forms, external responses, and Visualize only when you need them. Compatibility Windows 10 / 11 64-bit Desktop application There is currently no native macOS, iOS, or Android version. Mobile input is available through the optional Google Forms workflow. Windows SmartScreen Cup Chirp is currently distributed without a commercial code-signing certificate. Because of this, Windows SmartScreen may display a warning when you first run the application. This warning can appear with unsigned Windows applications and does not by itself mean that the application has been identified as malicious. Continue only if you trust the downloaded file. Some organization-managed PCs may block unsigned applications by policy. Included download CupChirp_1.0.0_Win10-11_x64.zip Extract the ZIP before launching the application.
